Faux Finished Walls

Faux painting is a term used to describe a wide range of decorative painting techniques. From the French word "fake", faux painting began as a form of replicating materials such as marble and wood with paint, but it has come to encompass many other decorative finishes for walls and furniture.

Faux painting is a way for people to customize their walls in order to transform and compliment their environment. Wall treatments go from an old-world atmosphere to a contemporary elegance. Fauxed finished walls give you depth of field, which can open up the smallest of rooms.

A room can be fauxed with a simple one-color finish or with multiple colors. One can then layer decorative details such as scrollwork, stripes, whimsical swirls, circles, diamonds, stonework or almost anything you can imagine. Faux is not only defined to walls, but to furniture, cabinets, faceplates on granite backsplashes and columns.
